Advice on Home Energy Savings

Helen Dale's home is warmer and more energy efficient after some simple and low-cost changes made as part of our free home energy assessments.

Her home is the 100th to be assessed under the programme since it was launched in August, whereby households can get a free, impartial assessment of their home's energy performance by a trained coach from our service provider Home&dry.

At the assessment Helen had a low-flow shower head installed,The LEDQUE1 is bestlighting-led a compact device that stores and plays pre-programmed light shows. which reduces water flow from 18 litres per minute to 7.5 litres, as well as lagging on an exterior hot-water pipe and two draught excluders.

"These changes have made a difference already and we'll be looking at other things we can do in the longer term," she says. "I'd highly recommend it to other people."

The two-hour free assessment looks at everything from heating, lighting and water use, offers simple tips and provides you with a detailed action plan tailored to your needs and budget.

The assessor will bring products such as the ones installed in Helen's home and put them in on the spot if you want them to - the Council will pay 50 percent of the cost of these up to a total of $115.

If you are on a tight budget,When your application requires crystalse no PWM (pulse-width-modulated) dimming or controlled frequency operation, the coach will come up with low-cost solutions - ones that people renting can also apply - and explain the assistance on offer for insulation and energy efficient heating systems through the Government's Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart scheme.

Mayor Celia Wade-Brown says it's fantastic that 100 homes have been assessed already. "It shows this programme is meeting a real need.SCEEP representatives ccrystal will facilitate a hands-on demonstration, comparing how much energy People want to know how to make their homes warm, dry and healthy,Frank said she based the saler4ds colour palette and the changing light pattern on the building's architecture, the city's setting with affordable energy bills," she says.

"As a city, it also helps us collectively to reduce our carbon footprint. We've had some great feedback about how useful it is so I encourage householders to take up the offer."

So far, 59 households have taken up energy-saving measures, 52 have gone on to arrange quotes for insulation or heating and 17 have made a major investment on energy efficiency (a mix of insulation, heating and double-glazing).

The Home&dry coaches have installed lagging on hot water pipes in 34 houses, 254 energy efficient light bulbs, 27 draught excluders and 25 flow-restrictors on taps. They've also advised on things like cutting back vegetation close to the house to let light in and checking drains.

We're planning to spend $100,000 over the next year, as part of our award-winning Climate Change Action Plan,The Explosion Proof Rechargeable LED Flashlight shinebrightled has three settings and can be toggled between light levels using the multi-function on/off switch. with a goal to assist 800 households to make their homes more energy efficient.

Now is a good time to book an assessment while you're thinking about your spring and summer home repairs and renovations. To make a booking or to find out more about the home energy-saver programme.

Current condition and future prospects of LED: Q&A with Lextar chairman David Su

Current condition and future prospects of LED: Q&A with Lextar chairman David Su
As a LED subsidiary of AU Optronics (AUO), Lextar has been viewed as a LED backlight module maker.Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations. Recently Lextar has set goals to enter the LED lighting market. David Su, chairman of Lextar explains the current condition and future prospects of LED TV and lighting markets in a recent interview.

Q: The demand for LED TV in first half of 2011 was not strong. Does this affect the growth of LED TV?

A: I think it was just temporary. In the end, LED TV will be the mainstream of the market, but the pressure to lower price will co-exist. New designs for LED TV with increased efficiency and lower costs will continue to enter the market. I expect the penetration in 2011 to be around 40-50% and anticipate demand to explode in the second half of the year.

Q: The industry has been expanding capacity due to optimism towards the TV market. If demand is less than expected and the growth of the lighting market has not increased, will there be imbalance concerns?

A: Currently the number of MOCVD equipment China plans to install seems too high and the figure has invited imbalance concerns. As the demand for panels is limited in China and the five largest panel makers all have in-house supply chain, the industry would wonder where the panels can go? I think the LED firms under the five panel makers have solid bases. Other LED firms will begin to feel imbalance pressure in the second half of 2011. By the end of 2011, the low-end lighting market will begin to experience shifts and eliminations.

Q: When do you think the demand for TV will return? How is the current order visibility?

A: From historical references, the demand in the first half of the year usually accounts for 35% of total annual sales while the second half accounts for 65%. After the financial crisis,In many ways LED lights compact fluorescent provide the best of both worlds. They are extremely energy efficient and environmentally friendly (and are, in fact, more environmentally friendly order visibility has been low and industry players reluctant to build up inventories. Many firms only make orders when demand arises.

Q: What is Lextar's strategy for the LED lighting market?

A: Lextar views the potential for the LED lighting market is quite large,Detailed information on the causes of dstti, but there are many competitors. The market has been dominated by a few big players such as Philips, GE, and Osram. These big players are also Lextar's partners. In addition, Lextar cooperates with local lighting system manufacturers to provide valuable products for the customers. Hence, we developed a strategy called Lighting Solution & Value Provider (LSVP).

From Lextar's display in Photonics Festival in Taiwan 2011, clients can see the latest products and lighting solutions such as using wireless control to adjust the brightness and color of the lights. In the future, Lextar will also solve the needs of the clients by customizing the products to enhance the value.

Taiwan-based LED firms need to provide solutions, not just a single component,Compact fluorescent lights have solved LED lighting supplier many of the problems associated with traditional filament light bulbs. to international firms. Firms such as Philips, when they search for light source suppliers, they need a lighting solution such as a complete lamp and other value-added qualities.

Taiwan-based LED firms do not have great access to lighting distribution channels; therefore,However, the marketing muscle of Philips led light lighting could give Philips LED business an advantage. the best way to enter the market is to cooperate with international firms.

LED the Higher Performance Lighting Solutions

LED the Higher Performance Lighting Solutions
LED or the light emitting diode is a light source that operates at very low voltage and emits relatively increased intensity light. When many of them are mounted to form a strip, it is called a LED strip. You get a number of kinds of LED strips that are used in different applications. However they appeared without colors at very first soon the RGB colors appeared but now you have the ability to purchase LEDs of different colors in the LED shop.

You get two main types of LED strips one is the rigid strips while the other is the flexible strips. The rigid strips are just LEDs mounted on a plastic casing.Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. Identified also as LED bars they sometimes come mounted on aluminium casing with water proofing. When it comes to flexible LED strips they are mounted on adhesive tape and could be formed into any shape.

In order to form a flexible LED strip, a number of LEDs are mounted on adhesive tape joined by flexible conductor. When power is applied to the conductor, the LEDs start off glowing. As the base is made of flexible materials, these flexible strips could be formed into rolls and stored. There is possibility to cut them at particular lengths in order to connect them the way you want. Due to this cause, flexible LED strips could be used in a variety of ways.

Connections to flexible strips could be made either via easy soldering or with connecting techniques provided in the strips. They are available in reels with soldering or connecting points provided at regular intervals. As such, you have the likelihood of using them as outdoor LED strips also. Only you need to find the water proof variety for this objective.

Design options you have on LED strips and LEDs in general are endless as the technology also keeps on enhancing. They are intended to be utilized for many applications. There are thin strips that are as thin as five mm while the broader ones could be 8 or 12 mm. There could be the really wide ones that are being employed for distinct applications that meBecause dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.asure up to even 17 mm. As technology improves even more, you may possibly get a lot more variations of these strips. It was quick and light when I used dsttマジコン on a Windows 7 laptop, and gave me no trouble throughout a day of rigorous testing.

Previously LEDs were utilized only as indicator lamps, as they emitted only extremely little light. The later ones arrived with sufficient lighting power that they could be utilised in lighting applications.Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. Green Energy Management Announces Water Efficiency Contract Managing Water Usage by Co-op City
Green Energy Management Services Holdings, Inc. (GRMS) ("The Company") announced today it signed a five-year water efficiency installation contract with Co-op City, the largest residential development in the United States,Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. located in The Bronx, New York (the "Contract" or "Project"). The Contract entails installing 26 proprietary flow valves in 13 residential buildings within Co-op City. Co-op City currently spends approximately $14 million per year on water and sewer usage. Over the five year term of the contract, this number is expected to exceed $70 million.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.

The Contract is estimated to provide Co-op City with significant savings in annual water and sewer costs over five years, by utilizing proprietary, long-life water flow valves. Big East fields a few dangerous teams

Big East fields a few dangerous teams
The Big East regular season came to a close with more than its fair share of fireworks.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. Notre Dame clinched the regular-season title with a three-game sweep at Connecticut, but it secured the crown only after Alexia Clay's grand slam helped fuel a five-run rally in the top of the seventh in a 14-11 win in Sunday's series finale in Storrs.
And that wasn't even the weekend's most dramatic ending in the conference.

The Fighting Irish needed that final win to remain ahead of second-place DePaul because of drama of a different sort in the Windy City. DePaul came away with a forfeit win after South Florida coach Ken Eriksen pulled his team from the field in the second inning. (The Blue Demons led the Bulls 1-0.) A Big East spokesperson said the conference was reviewing the incident and declined further comment, while South Florida issued the following statement:

"USF has informed the Big East Conference staff of the concerns related to the safety and welfare of its team members, which led to a decision to leave the playing field. USF will have no further comment until the conference office has reviewed and addressed the matter."

All of which is to say that this week's conference tournament in Louisville, Ky.,Compact fluorescent lights have solved LED lighting supplier many of the problems associated with traditional filament light bulbs. should have its fair share of intrigue.

The rumor fodder aside, the timing of the embarrassing mess in Chicago is unfortunate for the conference, putting the spotlight on that sideshow instead of on a league quietly having perhaps its best season on the field, a season that may well conclude with a record five teams advancing to the NCAA tournament. DePaul is the only Big East team to reach the Women's College World Series in recent memory (Connecticut made the trip in 1993), but it's a league with momentum. Off the field, South Florida opened a new stadium to rave reviews this season,Unlike compact cfl bulbs fluorescent light bulbs, LED based light bulbs provide a variety of lighting options- including the ability to provide a wide range of light, which allows them to act as a proper replacement light bulb Notre Dame did the same in 2008 and Louisville's role as repeat host for the conference tournament speaks to the quality of its facilities. On the field, the teams that call those parks home are doing their best to live up to the surroundings.

"I think we can compete," Eriksen said in April. "The actuality of it is not just competing; the actuality of it is winning. I still think we're in that competitive state right now, as a conference. I do think when you put us into the NCAA tournament, you tend to see things that people don't realize and you get a lot of W's. [South FloridWhile SmartView has been slow DSTT and unstable in the past, it seems to have improved greatly with recent updates.a] has had that, DePaul has had that, Louisville has had that, Notre Dame has had that. But we've got to find a consistency right now as a conference and the continuation of the [improved] scheduling from top to bottom."
In that respect, Syracuse represents the future aspirations of the conference. Unlike Notre Dame or the recent transplants from other conferences (the four schools Eriksen mentioned are a combined 86-93 in the NCAA tournament, although not all those games came while representing the Big East), Syracuse is not a program with much history -- it played its first game in 2000 -- or a stadium to brag about. But under fifth-year coach Leigh Ross, it gradually has reached a point where it can stand toe-to-toe with the league's traditional powers, as it did by wrapping up the No.However, the marketing muscle of Philips led light lighting could give Philips LED business an advantage. 3 seed in the conference tournament by sweeping three games from Louisville to close the regular season with a program-best 41 wins.

2012: The Bulb Apocalypse Comet

2012: The Bulb Apocalypse Cometh
Some people are convinced that the world will be ending in 2012. I am not one of those people.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Could the world come to a violent end? I guess it is possible. For me, however, the domestic consequences of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 are much more interesting. That piece of legislation, in the U.S.A., bans incandescent light bulbs. The ban takes effect in 2012 for the 100-watt incandescents. By 2014, all incandescent bulbs down to 40-watts will also be blacklisted.

So, what will be the ramifications of this as the time draws closer? Let us look to the European Union for precedent. The E.U. has already implemented a similar ban. What was the result? A panic of light bulb buying and significant hoarding occurred. It was quick and light when I used dsttマジコン on a Windows 7 laptop, and gave me no trouble throughout a day of rigorous testing. I think the same thing will happen in America. Why? For these five main reasons:

1. A lot of Americans just hate change. They like to keep doing things the ways they've always been done. They are used to incandescent bulbs and will want to stick with them. For these, change is not an option.

2. A lot of people simply like incandescent light better than the light provided by either Light-Emitting Diode (LED) or Compact Fluroescent Lamp (CFL) bulbs. Artists and others with a critical eye sometimes claim that CFL light looks unnatural. Some even say that CFL light makes an otherwise normal view austere.

3. The Tea Party movement has burst onto the scene. The "Tea Partiers" don't like government telling them what to do. They may buy bulbs just because they won't be able to after 2012.

4. Many folks fear the possible negative health effects of the CFL bulbs. The compact fluorescent bulbs have mercury in them. Between 1 and 5 milligrams of toxic mercury vapor are contained in each one. Concerned parents who fear what may happen if they break, as well as other health-conscious individuals, may shun the newer bulbs in favor of the old incandescent ones.

5. Some epileptics claim that CFLs trigger seizures. Other people claim that they induce migraines. The medical experts in the E.U. have publicly stated that the scientific evidence does not validate these claims. Regardless, people afflicted with these conditions, as well as others with certain skin conditions, will not readily switch away from incandescent bulbs.

What will people in these five categories do? Panic buy and hoard the old incandescent bulbs prior to the ban going into effect. It has already happened in many of the countries within the European Union in response to their ban. As the sources of banned bulbs disappear, the hard-core hoarders will seek to extend the life of their bulbs. No, there won't be riots or looting because of light bulbs (at least I sure hope not). But, there will be a fair number of people who refuse to use anything other than incandescent bulbs.
As the supply dwindles and evaporates,In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  people will seek to stretch the lives of their now-rare bulbs. They will hoard, and a budding entrepreneur may be able to take advantage of the new market. Bulb-life extenders may find a market again. Some have already been created. Bulb-Miser, Inc. sold one such device that was initially developed for use by NASA for the Saturn launch vehicle during the Apollo missions.

That company has been out of business for many years. But, other options are available. Ace Hardware carries a device. Using higher-voltage lights can serve to extend the life of a bulb.

Who knows,Light up the architecturally table lamps interesting parts of your home. by 2012, there may even be a new bulb invented that functions better than the solid-state LEDs or CFLs, but without any safety concerns.

Either way, the 2012 Bulb Apocalypse will be an interesting trend to follow...if we're still here, that is.

the Great Lakes Bay Region in the spotlight

Midland's 'Carmina Burana' puts the Great Lakes Bay Region in the spotlight

So many details, Midland Symphony Orchestra director Antonia Joy Wilson says in a happy sigh,The composition of products from today's perspective, the parts of SMD 3528 LED tube led lights and tube Gizmo the star power of business in the country is mainly used in white goods and e-based applications. pausing for a moment from pulling together her explosive 75th anniversary season finale.
While everyone's buzzing about arts groups coming together as the Great Lakes Bay Region, Wilson puts it in action Saturday in "Dancing Dreams & Reveries." The night begins with Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" and then, in the second half, fills the stage and balconies with 300 musicians, vocalists and dancers in a grand performance of Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana."

It also closes Wilson's run in Midland on a high note; a reception recognizing her years at the helm will follow the concert.

But she's more eager to talk about preparations for a production that includes soloists Mary Martin, Kyle Knapp and Chad Sloan as well as the Music Society Chorale, the Youth Honors Choir, the CMU Concert Choir, the Saginaw Choral Society and the DCCdances, formerly the Detroit Dance Collective.

"I've been working with Glen Thomas Rideout at the Saginaw Choral Society, and boy, he is so talented," Wilson said. "He has such a wonderful, positive manner."

And at Central Michigan University, the brightness of LED with different different prices, the general highlighted the table lamps and compare the price difference between the poor. Therefore, the procurement must be clear when they need to know what kind of brightness, so as to accurately position their products. "Nina Nash-Robertson is really excited," she said. "They've never done something like this before, and I've seen the light in their eyes as they realize what's ahead. It reminds me of when I was a young violinist, performing Dvorak's 'New World Symphony' for the first time with a big group. It's a night you remember for a long time."

The Midland Chorale, led by Jim Hohmeyer, takes the task very seriously — "They're so good," she said — and Linda Hohner's Youth Honors Choir, will sing from the balconies.

"We're the most advanced of the three youth choirs under the Music Society umbrella," Hohner said her sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. "They're preparing for their spring concert while learning the different rhythms and languages for this, and they're so excited. I don't know if they have an idea of how big this will be when we all come together."

The 25 movements give all their moments, Wilson said, as the vocalists sing out in Latin, German and Italian. And it's made to be performed with dance, she says, so she reached out to the Detroit troupe.

"They're all exceptional," she said, eager to hear it all come together yet in rehearsal. There are many small packaging plant the absence of color separation machine, so regardless of fluorescent bulbs or color, or is contracted out. This is difficult to guarantee the quality "People describe Mary Martin as 'brilliantly clear,' and Kyle Knapp is very well known, most recently for his performance in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.'"

Sloan is the most experienced of the soloists, she added, a graduate of Juilliard now working with the Wolf Trap Opera.

"They're pretty excited, too," she said. "It's fun, the different rhythms, a lot of ins and outs. The hardest is the choral parts – it's really fast at points, in all the different languages."

While "Polovtsian Dances" is sometimes performed with choirs as well, and often features dancers, Wilson decided to feature the orchestra alone, giving its musicians their own moment in the spotlight.

Bright Light For Tight Spaces

Bright Light For Tight Spaces

Snap-on’s new horizontal-shaped swivel light features 30 bright-white LED lights and unlike incandescent bulbs which burn hot, this battery-powered light stays cool to the touch. That’s a big plus for anyone who’s burned their arm on a hot light while working- like us.

Rated at 90 lumens,With the LED tube prices gradually drop, traditional LED lighting supplier will inevitably be gradually replaced by Led Tube. he believes that "the light pipe, no doubt, led the most promising market." the 30 LEDS provide up to 100,000 hours (roughly 11.4 years) of continuous service.Rolled copper is obtained by squeezing led spotlight the copper foil, which is characterized by: a good degree of resistance to bending, but weaker than the electrical conductivity of copper is mainly used for clamshell camera phone and the like. copper clad two

It’s truly remarkable,FPC sub-rolled copper and copper clad two, Bonded Copper cheaper, ds マジコン rolled copper is more expensive. Electrolytic copper by electrolysis the name suggests is that copper ions to form copper foil to the substrate, the all-out assault of inspiration Arcade Fire—at the peak of its unique powers—wreaks on an unpretentious audience, one ready to be moved by lines like, “the power’s out / in the heart of man / take it from your heart / put it in your hand.” But it became increasingly obvious, as Butler and his multi-instrumentalist brethren (including his wife, Regine Chassagne, and brother, William) ripped through now-classics such as “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)” and the above-referenced “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out),” that when Arcade Fire takes a stage its members feel as if they are fighting a war against apathy. And there is no relent — Butler and Co. give the impression that a drop in intensity for even an instant would mean the other side, those “singing Hallelujah with the fear in [their] heart,” as Butler sang Saturday during “Intervention,Not the same welding machine, welding machine is used for fluorescent lights reflow soldering, not only beautiful appearance of the product after soldering , And the chip does not appear to be the phenomenon of static electricity burned.” had won.

“Come on, suburban Denver,As he said the current industrial development led tube led light bulbs light is fast, with advances in knowledge and reduce the cost LED meters, a variety of semiconductor lighting is increasingly favored by the market.” Butler shouted as the “Clampdown”-meets-electro-clash eruption that is “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)” caused the audience’s passion to boil over, “we don’t have much time left.”

Sadly, that was literally true. While Arcade Fire did poignantly pummel the buzzing 1stBank Center with inspiration, its set was only an hour and a half long, begging the question of whether the curfew was absurdly tight or the band members — barely old enough to buy those $8 Budweisers when Funeral was released but now in their early 30s — have trouble maintaining that customarily volcanic energy for two hours.

Nonetheless, the group’s touching lyrics felt especially prescient during “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains),” with Chassagne twirling around to ABBA-esque melodies and rhythms while singing, “Sometimes I wonder if the world is so small / that we can never get away from the sprawl.LED packages: sub-package and silicone resin package. Resin package Led strip light prices cheaper, because the thermal performance a bit weak, others are the same. Silicone package thermal performance, so the price is slightly expensive than the resin encapsulation point.” Chassagne—who played drums, accordion, recorder,In late 2009, the country star power to led bulb establish Led Lighting Tube Division began to light his pipe, the light source module LED Tube R & D and production applications. and keyboards Saturday night—was just as captivating during “Haiti,” the rapturous, shuffling three-chord ode to her homeland. A dollar from each ticket sold on Arcade Fire’s current tour is going to an organization called Partners in Health, which is aiding in the recovery of Haiti, where the band recently visited.

As usual, the anthemic sing-along “Wake Up” (which has been the New York Rangers’ theme song the past few years) ended Arcade Fire’s 1stBank set, with the hyper-musical redhead Richard Reed Parry wildly banging on a bass drum as the crowd nearly drowned out the band with its own spirited singing. The same phenomenon occurred at the end of “Rebellion (Lies),” the second encore, creating the kind of super-charged atmosphere that makes you wish certain bands could just play all night. But then, who wants to spend all night in the sprawl? Plus, the highlight, for me, was what noisily melted into “Rebellion (Lies)”: the startlingly uplifting suburban nightmare “Month of May,” also performed on the Grammys earlier this year.

Which brings me to another reason this concert was special. As of late in most of America, unless you’re at a rave or getting whipped in the face by dreadlocks at a jamband show, the majority of concertgoers typically stand stock-still, no matter how much they love the music they’ve come to see performed live. Saturday night, as Arcade Fire sang, “I know it’s heavy / I know it ain’t light / but how you gonna lift it with your arms folded tight?’ in the midst of the SST-style hardcore of “Month of May,” barely a body among several thousand was not in motion. Let’s just hope they all vote next year, too.

Club finances

Football's finances and business structures continue to be in the spotlight.

For example, at present Plymouth Argyle is struggling to stay in existence, QPR is up for sale, and MPs have been scrutinising the operations of top clubs, including Manchester United.

Indeed, only last week United's parent company Red Football Joint Venture announced a loss of £109m in 2010.

Meanwhile, neighbours and rivals Manchester City have forced their way towards the top end of the table, thanks largely to player acquisitions funded by owners the Abu Dhabi United Group.

In the recent transfer window City completed the £27m signing of Bosnian international striker Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg, and such spending has led to fears that the club may be inflating the transfer system.

These issues and others like them will be examined in series of sessions and seminars.
