LED drivers represent a critical but confusing market

With all the attention devoted to LEDs and LED lighting, you hear surprisingly little about the rest of the electronics in LED products — what is known as the driver. Yet, the driver design determines such things as whether the product is properly loaded or inefficient, or whether the LEDs have to be tightly selected or can be loosely binned.

And if you think that driver design is well understood and mature,It doubles as a r4onsalele and a 2-piece (AA) battery charger. you are wrong, for reasons that this article will discuss. Driver design is evolving rapidly to keep up with new applications and new requirements, such as improved power factor correction and sophisticated dimming for improved uniformity and reliability.

Let's make one thing clear: the market for LED driver ICs – an important component of most LED drivers – is significant, at $2 billion. Also, it's growing at about the same rate as the LED market, about 13% per year.

Most LED driver ICs are used in backlights for LCD displays, such as in mobile phones and TVs. These are dynamic consumer end products, with short product cycles and tight control on performance, size, and cost. That makes the driver-IC segment dynamic too.

The next big opportunity in LED drivers is in LED lighting. There have been LED lighting products in the market for many years, but in niche categories like architectural lighting, exit signs, and flashlights. Now, LED replacement bulbs are being sold in hardware stores, with the promise of large-volume sales but extreme demands are being made on size, efficiency, and cost.

After that will come growth in general commercial and industrial luminaires, as building owners choose LED lighting for the lower-life-cycle cost compared to legacy lighting. The residential segment will take longer because private homeowners donate their labor for bulb replacement and do not strictly rationalize their life-cycle costs.

The driver is important, but it's under-appreciated by the industry and difficult to forecast. Why is that? The following sections explain.

One reason is that the terminology is absurdly confusing, although it can be mastered with a few pointers. Most important, the driver is the entire circuit, minus the LEDs. A driver IC is one or more ICs dedicated to controlling the current, and sometimes also the voltage, in the driver circuit. The shows an example of each. Nearly every LED-based light has a driver, even a simple one, but not every driver has a driver IC.

The term controller refers to a circuit within the driver that controls the LED current. We use microcontroller to refer to programmable boxes added by the lighting designer or customer to manage the system (for example, a timer or dimmer switch). In which the current controller is a key part of the driver, but the programmable microcontroller is entirely separate.

Flexible OLEDs - The state of play

Were we not promised super-thin bendable, flexible and rollable organic LED (OLED) displays?

Phones like Samsung's Galaxy and HTC's Desire have shown us that the rigid versions can deliver stunning images. So where are those flexies?

It turns out that they are also here, at least in proof-of-concept form, and they could even be on the shelves next year.

Sony has shown flexible OLED displays at the Society for Information Display conference more than once in the past few years, and Samsung has demonstrated flexible displays and said it will have products on the market in 2014, with rumours suggesting the Samsung is bringing this forward to 2012.

This said, significant hurdles remain in all four parts of a flexible OLED display: active matrix, substrate, OLED and barrier layers.

Like LCDs, a video-speed OLED display needs a matrix of drive transistors, thin-film transistors (TFTs), and flexible OLED displays will need flexible transistors.

Because OLED is a current-driven technology its transistors have to switch a non-trivial current, compared with LCD TFTs that are only required to change the voltage on what is essentially a capacitor.

Dr Jan Genoe is head of the Polymer and Molecular Electronics (PME) group at Belgian research lab Imec. His group works with the Netherlands' lab TNO on backplanes for rollable AMOLED displays at their Holst Centre in Eindhoven.

Both teams have been in the European Flame (flexible organic active matrix OLED displays for nomadic applications) project.

"Our main goal is transistors on flexible foil for making backplanes for OLED and other flexible displays," he told Electronics Weekly. "Our focus is truly rollable displays that can be rolled to 7mm diameter 10,000 times."

For LCDs on glass, amorphous silicon TFTs have been the order of the day or, for better quality displays, higher mobility polycrystalline transistors made by lasering amorphous silicon.

However, as far as anyone can tell,The low-energy LED lights will goodledbul run 24 hours a day but at a lower intensity during daylight hours and after about midnight amorphous silicon has reached its slightly-disappointing full potential and will not be good enough for -current-driven displays.

The higher-mobility polycrystalline materials also have limitations in current-driven technologies because different crystals have different characteristics leading to variations between neighbouring transistors. With LCDs,This technology consists of LED lighting units that goodleddownlight_2011 are cost effective and energy efficient meeting this will show up as a slight difference in pixel speed, which is irrelevant. For example, a mockup of r4onsale a building facade can be lit with conventional or LED lighting "One really crucial thing for displays is uniformity because eyes are very sensitive to slight differences," said Genoe. "Voltage-driven displays are very forgiving of transistor-to-transistor variations. In a current-driven display you will see the small differences. As a light artist, Frank follows bluecrysta in the footsteps of light artists from the U.S"

So OLEDs need materials with higher mobility than amorphous silicon, and better uniformity than polycrystalline silicon. The choreographed dancing fountain bluecrystal is located in pools on either side of the entrance.

"Our main focus is organic or oxide transistors on plastic foil," said Genoe, "and nowadays there is a shift to oxide transistors."

Oxide transistors are from a class of devices made from compounds that include metal and a non-metal atoms like oxygen. Copper oxide transistors are one of the earliest examples.

Cleaner Greener Lincoln uses federal stimulus money for many projects

Cleaner Greener Lincoln uses federal stimulus money for many projects
Contrary to popular belief, it's buildings, not cars, that are the biggest energy users.

That's why Lincoln's broad sustainability program -- Cleaner Greener Lincoln -- focuses on buildings, says Milo Mumgaard, senior aide to Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler.

Transportation is responsible for about 36 percent of the overall energy use in the city, Mumgaard said.

The rest occurs inside buildings -- homes, industrial and commercial buildings -- based on city Planning Department analysis.

So the Cleaner Greener Lincoln program is helping reduce energy costs in buildings by installing 8,000 LED lighting products in city-owned structures; encouraging home owners to caulk windows, use more efficient light bulbs and add insulation; and helping non-profits pay for fuel-efficient heating and air-conditioning systems.

Cleaner Greener Lincoln is using about $5.4 million in federal stimulus funding on 19 activities -- from replacing all city traffic signal lights with LED products to revising building codes so they encourage green building practices.

The federal funds first became available in December 2009.

The last penny must be spent by the end of May 2013.

The city has control over about $2.4 million. It will get another $3 million from an Omaha-led project that will provide financial incentives for energy audits and energy improvements in older homes and businesses.

Many cities, like Lincoln,In many ways LED lights compact fluorescent provide the best of both worlds. They are extremely energy efficient and environmentally friendly (and are, in fact, more environmentally friendly used the one-time federal stimulus funds for a broad approach, Mumgaard said. However, the marketing muscle of Philips led light lighting could give Philips LED business an advantage.

"We have a population who really get it, but they need some resources and leadership and support," said Mumgaard, who oversees the Cleaner Greener Lincoln program.

The staff is small: two young paraprofessionals, four consultants on a part-time basis, two Americorps volunteers, and part of Mumgaard's time.

"We tried not to create permanent staff," he said.

The Cleaner Greener Lincoln effort is intended to be relatively short term,Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations. but officials hope for longer-term benefits.

The project began with a $50,000 grant in the fall of 2009 -- money from a court settlement -- that was used to gather ideas from the public and to pull together the plan for spending the federal stimulus funds.

"It's all about planting a lot of seeds to see what creates savings and what supports itself," Mumgaard said.

Here are a few of the Cleaner Greener Lincoln projects.

Sherman Field Compact fluorescent lights have solved LED lighting supplier many of the problems associated with traditional filament light bulbs.

The city has replaced all the outfield lighting at the baseball park with more efficient lights (called Musco Light-Structure Green) at a cost of $168,000.

The lights are expected to reduce operating costs by half from the previous field lights,It was quick and light when I used dsttマジコン on a Windows 7 laptop, and gave me no trouble throughout a day of rigorous testing. with far improved performance.

Sherman Field lighting is a demonstration project expected to draw visitors from other communities.

City buildings

The city replaced 8,000 lights and ballasts in nine city buildings at a cost of $227,281.

The most expensive project is replacing all the lights in the Center Park Garage, 11th and N streets, with LED technology at a cost of $183,540. The new lights are expected to save about 125,000 kwh per year, or $9,000 annually.

At Gere Library, the city expects to save about $2,500 per year and 35,000 kwh for a $7,000 investment in more energy-efficient lighting.

Street signals

The city installed LED lights in all traffic signals and expects to save about $70,000 a year and see an 85 percent drop in energy use. The cost of replacing 1,411 traffic signal bulbs was $71,201.

Research

With the help of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the city is experimenting with a wind turbine at the 84th Street and Nebraska 2 traffic signal. The five-foot-wide blades spin atop a pole on the northeast corner of the intersection, providing part of the signal's power.

Missouri softball team advances to NCAA super regional

Missouri softball team advances to NCAA super regional
Darkening skies, light rain and tornado watches put the ending of Sunday’s NCAA regional softball competition at University Field in doubt.

But senior Rhea Taylor’s two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning put Missouri up 8-0, and sophomore Chelsea Thomas quickly retired three straight DePaul batters to end Sunday’s final game early in a run-rule shortened six innings.
A day after guaranteeing DePaul (41-15) wouldn’t beat No. 4 Missouri (50-8) again, Thomas essentially shut down the Blue Demons herself to help the Tigers advance to the NCAA super regional round next weekend.

In Sunday's two games, Thomas gave up just two hits in 13 innings. In the first game, Thomas gave up one run on four hits in Missouri’s 7-3 win. DePaul’s two other runs came against Kristin Nottelmann, who faced three batters in Sunday's first game, and gave up three hits and two runs.

In the second game, Thomas was nearly perfect. She walked just one batter, struck out four and did not allow a run or a hit. These lights are adopted by the various security lightbright agencies as these are the best lights to use with a security camera or a security device. Missouri coach Ehren Earleywine said the most impressive part was that Thomas didn’t even throw that well. The particular demise with the incandescent bulb bluebright continues calmly yet non-stop and in less as compared to any year or two today the sole goods stocked in stores is going to be lower electricity bulbs,

“She just did not have good velocity today,” Earleywine said. “But the dropball got a lot of groundballs, the changeup was effective, and we’ve still got to get the riseball a little more crisp. But it’s amazing that she’s able to not pitch her best and still get a no-hitter."

After falling to DePaul 2-1 in 11 innings on Saturday, Missouri had to beat the Blue Demons back-to-back in order to advance to the next round of postseason play. Watching Missouri tally up run after run Sunday made it hard to believe that same team had only produced one run against DePaul the day before.

“We lost that long game and we had to refocus and regroup as a team and come back for two tough games today,” Thomas said. “I think it was a test for us, and we passed it pretty darn well.”

In the two games, the Missouri offense racked up 17 total hits and scored 15 total runs against the Blue Demons. Taylor led the offense with two hits and four RBIs in the first game, and three hits and two RBIs in the second game. With a home run in each game, Taylor matched her regular season total of two home runs in just one day.

“I’m a senior, and I didn’t want it to be my last time playing,” Taylor said. “So I just needed to stop thinking and just do what I do.These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. That’s pretty much all that got into me today.”

Missouri, seeded fifth in the tournament, will face Washington, the 12th seed, in the super regional round. As the higher seed, it is likely Missouri will host Washington,These are also used as art light as well, it is because crystal these lights did not emit any harmful rays and the bluish color of LED lights makes a painting look very different from others and makes them attractive for the viewers. with the first game scheduled for Friday. LED bulbs move in and mix up home lighting

LED bulbs move in and mix up home lighting

In the space of a few years, I've gone from one lighting technology to another and now to three lighting types in my home. I suspect others will be in the same shoes as lighting options expand, notably those involving LEDs.

Eager to cut down my electrical load, I essentially converted to compact fluorescent lighting (CFLs) years ago. Recently, though, I've replaced CFLs with efficient LED bulbs and even energy-hogging incandescents to address an unfortunate feature of CLFs: turning them on and off frequently degrades their life.
Home lighting diversifies, led by LEDs (photos)

CLFs are still a good deal both financially and environmentally. They use about one quarter of the energy of incandescent bulbs and will last about 10 years, or 10 times as long, according to Consumer Reports tests. But Consumer Reports also found that turning a CFL on and off within less than 15 minutes, something you might do in the bathroom for instance, leads to earlier-than-expected brownouts.

That rapid cycling issue, plus the arrival of good LEDs in the traditional A19 bulb shape, got me rethinking my home lighting and prodded me to use different bulb types for different purposes. I'm still focused on efficiency, so I'm only using incandescent bulbs in places where the light is used in short spurts. I tend to go in and out of the attic quickly,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. for example, and want full brightness as soon as possible.

I've also added a few LEDs, which are certainly more expensive--a 60-watt incandescent replacement costs almost $40--but functionally they have been good CFL replacements and are more efficient per lumen. I have a few Philips LEDs that give off as much light as a 60-watt incandescent or a 14-watt CFL, and they consume 12 watts.

It will take a long time based on energy savings compared with CFLs to recoup the initial cost. On the other hand, LEDs are supposed to last upward of 20 years, and I placed them in fixtures that we flick on and off frequently, which I hope will address the burnouts I've experienced with CFLs.

LEDs multiply
You don't yet see general-purpose LED bulbs at the supermarket or corner hardware store, but more products in the popular 60-watt-equivalent category are coming, and prices are expected to continue falling. In the space of the last few weeks, a couple of new LED companies have emerged, and one anticipated product (well, anticipated by lighting geeks at least) is expected in stores soon.
Light dispersal in LED bulbs (photos)

Switch Lighting,An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights. backed by venture capital firm VantagePoint Capital Partners, plans in the fourth quarter to start selling an LED bulb which has a cooling system that it says will ensure long life--on the order of 20,000 hours, or 18 years, at three hours a day. The company is readying 40-watt, 60-watt, and 75-watt equivalent bulbs, with prices starting at less than $20, according to a representative. To make light dispersal more even, the LED light sources--small coin-size dots--are located near the edge of the bulb glass, a change from the typical "snowcone" shape.

Another company is Pixi Lighting, which introduced an A19 LED earlier this month. It has a color rendering index (CRI) of 90, a measure of light quality, and a color temperature of 3,000 Kelvin, or white light. The 40-watt equivalent, which uses 6.5 watts, has been in an overhead fixture in my house for a few weeks and I find the light quality is good.

Lighting Sciences Group will offer two 60-watt equivalent LEDs with some impressive "feeds and speeds" slated to be available online and in Home Depot nationally by the end of the second quarter, according to the company. Rather than the snowcone shape, the bulb has a thick disk on top of a heat sink to disperse light evenly.

There will be both a "cool white" and "warm white" version. The cool white will give off 950 lumens, have a CRI of 88, consume 13 watts, and have a cool color temperature of 4,900 Kelvin. That product is already available at some Home Depot stores and costs $36.97. The warm white will give off 850 lumens, consume 13 watts, have a CRI of 88, a temperature of 3,000 Kelvin, and cost $34.97.

The design of that product reflects how manufacturers are trying to improve LEDs so that they are suitable for many more uses in a typical home. Until now, LEDs have excelled at directional lighting uses, such as spotlights or downlights in recessed cans in a ceiling. But now GE has an "omnidirectional" LED bulb where the heat sink diffuses light. Cree, too,An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights. is working on a 60-watt replacement LED bulb that prioritizes even light along with efficiency (less than 10 watts) and life.
More LED bulbs to choose from (photos)

The other significant change in buying LEDs, at least for me, is choosing a color temperature, as LED manufacturers typically offer a cool 3,000 Kelvin and a warmer 2,700 Kelvin temperature, which is similar to the yellow of an incandescent bulb or CFL. I'm also going to pay closer attention to CRI,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. as I've been impressed with the 90 CRI of the Pixi bulb (although I'd like it to put out more light). Some bulb manufacturers are already advertising how their bulbs can be recycled or taken back, another desirable feature in my book.

Purchase prices between $30 and $40 for lightbulbs are obviously a barrier to adoption. But there are some state and manufacturer rebates available, and some people, as I have, will be willing to consider the energy savings,Many people see through their car an easy and comfy way to lightsale go to work, to travel etc. We are talking about transportation and nothing more. Facilities such as a good stereo sound system, climate control and a coffee mug holder are just some things to make driving life easier and much more fun. environmental benefit, and other attributes, such as long life and the ability to work with dimmer switches. (CLFs can work with dimmers, but not all of them, so you need to check that when shopping.)

Falling prices and improving performance of LEDs puts people in a similar situation to buying a PC or mobile phone, where the technology is always improving and there's an argument for waiting. In my case, I've stepped into LED bulbs in a measured way and we've been happy with the results. Rather than ditch CFLs en masse, I'll let these different lights coexist while keeping my electricity bills low.

M-Elec Pty Ltd Energy Efficient LED Lighting Strips Used in Recently Refurbished Sunshine Coast Beach House

M-Elec Pty Ltd Energy Efficient LED Lighting Strips Used in Recently Refurbished Sunshine Coast Beach House
Energy efficient products, in particular LED lighting strips, from M-Elec Pty Ltd were used to improve the sustainability of a recently refurbished beach house on the Sunshine Coast.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one.

Tim from Mobbs Electrical says about the design and installation process; “The lounge room features exposed beams on a raked ceiling, therefore M-Elec’s ultra bright LED lighting strips and aluminium housing were installed to complete a simple installation in a challenging environment. This ensured the clients would obtain more light than the minimal light output from a few spotlights. Complete control of brightness wasn’t an issue as the strips were then installed on a V-dimmer.”

One point hat must be considered while putting in the waterproof lights is that the energy supply needs to be entirely dry. When it is called waterproof that means the exterior of the lights can be uncovered to moisture but the circuitry ought to remain fully dry or it will short circuit and get damaged. The strips are offered in different sizes and if longer strips need to be produced they can be manufactured by using connectors and soldering the more compact strips collectively.

Farmer wins compensation after Red Nose Day balloon kills cow

Farmer wins compensation after Red Nose Day balloon kills cow
Children at Lyndhurst Primary School in Camberwell, south-east London cheered as they sent hundreds of balloons soaring into the sky to support charity Comic Relief.

But when one of their red, helium-filled balloons fell to earth over 50 miles away in Kent, a 13-month-old bullock choked to death on its string.Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations.

Farmer Richard Vant, 50, found the balloon, with string and a school label attached to it, sticking out of the dead animal’s mouth.

The school’s insurer initially refused to compensate Mr Vant for his dead bovine – before eventually paying out £889.

Farming and conservation groups are demanding a ban on mass releases of balloons and Chinese lanterns because of the deadly threat they pose to livestock and other wildlife.

Releases are all the rage at charity and commemoration events like birthday parties and weddings with hundreds taking place last week to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

Parents had been reassured by the primary school in a newsletter ahead of the event that the balloons would "biodegrade at the same rate as an oak leaf".

But Mr Vant said that his Belgian Blue and Limousin cross may well have died a slow and painful death.

Mr Vant, a fourth generation farmer of 34 years in the village of Stalisfield Green near Ashford, said: “My bull could have been suffering for up to 20 hours.

“When I found it, the string was wrapped round its tongue and the balloon was all round its neck, shutting off the airways.

“It’s ridiculous. People think it’s lovely when they let balloons go but they don’t think about the consequences when they fall to earth.

“It’s a fact that due to these balloons and Chinese lanterns a lot of animals are being injured or killed.

“We are always having balloons and Chinese lanterns landing in the fields and a while ago one of my sheep got its legs tangled up in the string from another balloon.

“We are trying to produce food for the public. It is just so irresponsible to be sending these things into the sky. It is legalised fly-tipping.”

The school apologised to Mr Vant but its insurer Gallagher Bassett initially denied liability, claiming the cow’s death was “unforeseeable”.

Mr Vant, who farms hundreds of acres and rears beef cattle for 400-year-old, award-winning local pub The Plough's menu, said: “The balloon had a label attached showing it had been released by the primary school.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.

“When I contacted them they apologised. The headmaster was decent about it and said he was really sorry.

“The school passed the details to their insurer but they wrote saying liability had been denied on behalf of the London borough of Southwark.

“Their letter said in order to establish a claim against their client, it was necessary to show they had acted negligently.

“They said it was ‘unforeseeable’ the balloon would have travelled so far and would have caused the ‘alleged incident’, so they would not be paying any compensation.

“Do they expect these balloons to land neatly in a waste bin? If it hadn’t landed on my field it could easily have landed on someone else’s.While SmartView has been slow DSTT and unstable in the past, it seems to have improved greatly with recent updates.

“If that school hadn’t sent the balloon up, my bullock would still be alive.”

Mr Vant’s cow was valued at £850 and he had to pay £150 for its carcass to be removed from his farm after the March incident.

The insurer eventually caved in and recently sent him a cheque for £889, still leaving him out of pocket.LED grow light suppliers in China are sky lanterns rolling out models with better price-performance ratios.

Farmers nationwide have been complaining about the threat to livestock posed by debris from mass releases of balloons and Chinese lanterns.

The paper lanterns with candles inside float for several miles before crashing to the ground and can cause death or injury if eaten by animals.

The National Farmers’ Union has written to the Government calling for a ban.

NFU spokesman Mike Thomas said: “These releases may be pretty but we are getting more and more reports from farmers of livestock dying.

“Whether it is mass balloons or Chinese lanterns, we would really urge people to think twice because they cause serious problems for farmers and are a litter nuisance as well.”

The Marine Conservation Society is also urging revellers not to release balloons,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs which can kill fish, seabirds, turtles and even whales and dolphins.

A spokesman said: “Balloon litter often ends up floating at sea and is deadly for many marine wildlife species.”

The school’s head teacher Nick Hammill said: “Since the accident we’ve done a post-event risk assessment and we won’t be doing balloon releases in the future.”

Councillor Richard Livingstone, Southwark Council’s cabinet member for finance, resources and community safety, said: “We’re extremely saddened to hear about this unfortunate incident.

Students thrust HPV awareness into spotlight

Students thrust HPV awareness into spotlight
When the topic of conversation is a sexually transmitted infection, it can be difficult to draw an attentive audience — especially when you’re looking for one in a high school, at recess and noon.

A group of 15 to 20 peer educators at Avon View High School have learned this life lesson as part of the school’s Youth Health Centre Group, a team of students that has been launching several human papillomavirus (HPV) awareness initiatives since September.

The main goal of the HPV Awareness Campaign is to educate students, and the public, on three key messages that can help prevent the spread of the virus,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs which is the leading cause of cervical cancer.

The other objective fuelling the fire that keeps the student group going strong is simple: to win.

The Capital District Health Authority challenged all of the schools within their region to educate the masses.

“HPV is so common that if you’ve ever had sexual contact, you may have been exposed to the virus,” said Janice Dempsey-Stewart, a teen health advisor at AVHS, listing the first HPV fact her students tried to drive home.

“Always use a condom, but remember that it doesn’t fully protect you from HPV because HPV is passed through skin to skin contact in the genital area. The best protection against HPV is abstinence; the [Gardasil] vaccine helps to protect against HPV once you choose to become sexually active.”

Avon View’s peer educators have been filming their HPV awareness efforts since the beginning of the school year. They will submit an eight-minute film,it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. and a photo book, to the Capital Health judges in Dartmouth on June 23.

Dempsey-Stewart says the idea behind the student involvement in this campaign, which has Avon View competing with West Hants Middle School, grew from a concept that aimed to connect staff and students,While SmartView has been slow DSTT and unstable in the past, it seems to have improved greatly with recent updates. and to find out if youth engagement is really the way to reduce the spread of preventable diseases.

“If youth are part of solving the problem, they actually learn way more about it and then they become the source of information for their friends,Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations.” she said.Compact fluorescent lights have solved LED lighting supplier many of the problems associated with traditional filament light bulbs.

Dempsey-Stewart said Capital Health and the educators in their district worked together to choose the topic of the student-led initiatives.

Dempsey-Stewart knows firsthand how important it is to educate people about HPV early in life.

“I have a friend that died of cancer of the cervix. She was only 30 years old and, in part, it’s because the messages about prevention were not great.”

The father of the girl who passed away gave Avon View’s Youth Health Centre Group permission to pass out earrings he designed for HPV awareness, Dempsey-Stewart said. The only thing he asked for in return was for each one of them to share a story about HPV prevention or hope whenever someone commented on their earrings.

Sam White, a Grade 12 AVHS student, joined the group to be a part of something in her last year at the school.

“It’s been a lot of fun because I met a lot of people I didn’t know before and I got to learn a lot more about HPV and how to prevent it,” White said.

She admits it has been difficult to reach some of her peers, but she’s not about to throw in the towel.

Two disc UFOs appear near ground level at Wisconsin home

Two disc UFOs appear near ground level at Wisconsin home

A Wisconsin couple report that bright lights coming through bedroom windows caused them to investigate and discover a bright object hovering 200 feet from the house at the tree top level that was shining a rotating search light to the ground, according to May 3, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"As we sat there watching it, it emitted a search light rotating around on the ground and the area as though it were looking for something," the reporting witness stated. "As the light came around it shown right into our bedroom window. It made quite a number of rotations. We looked at each other in disbelief. At this point we decided to run outside to get a better look."

Outside they discovered a silent craft.

"The craft made no sound of any kind. I felt no moving air from it. If it had been a helicopter we would have been deafened by the noise and barraged with dust and air from the propellers at that close range."

The craft was disc-shaped and they could see figures through windows.

"As it hovered, it was getting less bright and we could make out more details of the craft. It was disk shaped with a higher area on the top. There were red lights or windows around the top part. As we watched it we could see more details. The red lights looked more like windows with a red light inside it like a dark room that photographers use. I could see five or six silhouetted human like figures inside it moving around. Some of them seemed to be looking at us as we looked at them. The under side of the craft remained faintly glowing with the white yellow light."

They described the size of the object.

"I would judge the size of the craft to be about 50 feet in diameter. It would have fit into our driveway area between the house and the barn. It just hovered there like that for at least 20 minutes. We could have walked right under it, but we didn't. It did not make any threatening movements or noises. I never felt any sense of danger."

A short time later, a second disc appeared.

"After about 20 minutes of watching it,While SmartView has been slow DSTT and unstable in the past, it seems to have improved greatly with recent updates. another disk appeared from behind our house. It looked just like the first one. It was hovering, moving very slow and close to the ground, below tree top level. The two of them hovered next to our house for several minutes then moved very slow down into the valley below tree level. They disappeared from our sight behind the trees in the valley. We didn't see them again."

The event occurred on October 16, 1980. No images or videos were provided with the MUFON report, which was filed on May 3, 2011. No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

I had just gone to bed about 9 pm. As I was lying there still awake I saw a flash of bright light through the window from the direction of our driveway. I waited for a car door to open and close as I thought we had a unexpected guest, but no one had come. I called to my husband to see if anyone had come and he said no.

A minute later I saw a strange light through the other bedroom window off in the distance. I was watching it because it was doing very strange things. It was making geometic type movements in the sky like circles, triangles, etc. We lived near an airport but this light was not behaving as an airplane would behave.

I got out of bed and sat by the window to watch and called my husband in to see this. As we sat there watching it it came closer to the house. Now it appeared as a very bright white -yellowish light, almost too bright to look at. At this point it was about 200 feet from the house hovering just above tree top level. There was a lone tree in the field next to the house that enabled us to judge it's size and distance accurately. It appeared to be close to the tree and just above it.

Could you live off the grid?

Could you live off the grid?

We found a property in South Branch, Kent County that, for us, epitomized the beauty of New Brunswick.Rolled copper is obtained by squeezing led spotlight the copper foil, which is characterized by: a good degree of resistance to bending, but weaker than the electrical conductivity of copper is mainly used for clamshell camera phone and the like. From the exterior view, copper red, yellow copper rolling The only problem was it was four kilometres from the nearest power poles. We discovered it would cost approximately $55,000 to brush the area and run power lines into the house.

The property was, however, located on a designated road. This meant the county would keep our road open and the school bus would collect our daughter at the bottom of our driveway. This was a paramount concern.

Then we started to mull the possibility of living 'off the grid.'

My husband Jerry's experience in the energy industry included a project which allowed critical equipment to function in case of a power failure. Further research showed him that photovoltaic panels, combined with a generator, would allow us to run some lights, a radio and a pump for water.

We decided to take a chance and purchased the property. We named it Heron Wood because we have a large rookery of herons living on the small trout river that runs through our property.

We have been living off grid now for 17 years now. Our first photovoltaic panel was a small 15-watt unit that was very expensive. The lights we used were some of the first compact fluorescent bulbs on the market.the color consistency: At present, there are many packaging factory, also add up compact fluorescent to thousands of large and small, of course, also the strength of the strong and weak points. They, too, were very expensive. This marketing situation has changed dramatically in the last few years. Photovoltaic panels have fallen in price and increased in power output, and compact fluorescent bulbs are commonplace and inexpensive.

As with any other product that taps into a high demand market, there is a great deal of exaggeration concerning the abilities of, and the monetary savings connected to, renewable energy products.

We felt there should be a reliable information centre to help people come to a better understanding of the benefits and limitations of renewable technology.

We hoped that our experience as a family learning how to live an off-grid lifestyle could help others. This led to the construction of the Heron Wood Carbon Neutral Off Grid Living Interpretive Centre.

This centre was designed as a small cottage and is powered by the same photovoltaic system that serves the family home. This system is comprised of 28 photovoltaic panels and 16 deep-cycle batteries. The batteries, along with all the attendant equipment, are housed in their own electrical building.

The centre has a small kitchen that includes a washer and dryer, fridge, and freezer. The attached greenhouse is heated by the same stove and water system that serves the centre. With the LED tube prices gradually drop, traditional LED lighting supplier will inevitably be gradually replaced by Led Tube. he believes that "the light pipe, no doubt, led the most promising market." This system is a duplicate of the one in the family home.

We opened this centre to the public last January. We don't promote any particular business or product. We've been asked why we don't charge an admission fee. We believe that a centre such as Heron Wood is needed to give unbiased information. We came to the conclusion that this could only happen if there was no monetary gain in the exchange of information.

The last 17 years have seen us through many trials and errors,sub-package and silicone resin package. Resin package prices cheaper, because the thermal performance dsttマジコン a bit weak, others are the same. Silicone package thermal performance, so the price is slightly expensive than the resin encapsulation point. The trials were frustrating and the errors sometimes costly. In pursuing this change in lifestyle,In recent years, the tube was quickly Led light in the public eye, the space seemed huge market for a lot of companies have increased investment to share more market share. LED tube in the investment boom, we have sought out the experts in renewable technology. They have helped us adapt the various products to our family's needs. We have learned that some things work sometimes, some things don't work any time and some things work all the time.

LED lights last a lot longer

"LED lights last a lot longer," agreed Arenburg. But consumers balk at the price.Existing optical-fiber technology is マジコンds inefficient at transmitting infrared light. However, the zinc selenide optical fibers that Badding's team developed are able to transmit the longer wavelengths of infrared light. "Exploiting these wavelengths is exciting because it represents a step toward making fibers that can serve as infrared lasers," Badding explained. "They burn a fraction of the hydro of the others and last 10 years, so you recoup the cost in hydro. And you don't have to change bulbs, which is good for seniors or for fixtures in high ceilings or hard to reach places."

Outside,"I have learned a lot of valuable lessons cfl bulbs in my short time in office and it is unfortunate that I am effectively receiving the blame now for other people's conduct over the past several years, when this has been ignored," Trump said. Carson suggests using one feature piece and pot lights for the rest."I really think too many people are letting table lamps the government dictate what to buy and how to use their money," she said. "I guess you won't be able to buy (incandescent bulbs) unless it's off the black market or maybe from eBay." Step lighting also is becoming more prevalent.

If it's still too much choice for you, consider calling in an expert. Carson said an in-home consultation is a good first step, especially for those buying or moving into a new house, or renovating.

"We meet with the homeowners for about half an hour, take photographs and talk to them. They make an appointment to come into the store to see the options. The consultation is $50 and it is used as a deposit on their order."

Carson said her team also consults with major builders on model homes and renovators. "We fit into every budget.Such technology could be applied to led light bulbs the development of improved surgical and medical lasers, better countermeasure lasers used by the military,"

Bristow also suggested buyers bring in paint chips, samples of countertops and wood of new homes to find the best matches in lighting. "People renovating or buying a new house should bring in the plans,County cabinet member for transport, Rodney Rose, said led downlight remodelling the junction was "pivotal" to tackling the city's congestion problems." she said.

"It's important for us to ask the right questions," Arenburg said. "Some people don't need help. They know exactly what they want. But there are so many fixtures . . . from so many different manufacturers. The lighting world is huge. Most people can't fathom how much there is available. When people look at lighting, even if they think they know what they want, they should run it past someone in the business. They may get ideas they hadn't even thought of before."
